The Importance of Passion and How To Find It

Throughout my entire life, I’ve always been incredibly passionate towards my dreams. Whether it was writing books, doing seminars, travelling the world, building projects, creating products, getting six pack abs, whatever the case may be, I was always driven by passion.

I believe that without passion, you just won’t have the drive and tenacity required to achieve your goals. Your goals alone won’t get you out of bed, they will just become a wish that will stay in your mind forever. However a person who is so passionate towards their goals, will achieve it for passion is like the wood that fires a furnace.

Passion is the absolute engine behind your goals. You need this engine in order to conquer the challenges that will come your way. No matter what happens, in life you’ll always come across challenges and set backs. These challenges are simply a test to see how passionate you really are in achieving whatever it is you want to achieve.

The way I see it is that rejection, sadness, failure, challenges are simply a price tag on that particular thing you want. For example, let’s say you have an idea of your dream woman you want to date. You know what she looks like, her hair, body, personality and more. However to date this particular type of woman, you would have to approach many women who match that particular type.

Of course, if we are talking about the model materials, then you’ll know that there’s a price tag of rejection. You may have to go through 10, 20 or even 100 rejections to date the super model you want. Now I know what you are thinking, 100 rejections! Well, it is what it is. In order to get that dream girl, you have to go through the pain of rejection.

So how do you go through rejection and challenges? With passion of course. If you had so much passion and drive, you would get through 1,000 rejections and get whatever you want in life. Cornel Sanders started knocking on doors selling his chicken recipe in his 60s. He got rejection over 1,000 times until someone bought his recipe and KFC was born.

It just goes to show whether you can handle rejection, challenges and setbacks. The trick is to have passion.

How To Find Your Passion

There is a trick that I’ve been using for my entire life to help me find my passion. It’s simply this. Remember that one day, you will die. One day you will pass away and everything you own, everyone you know will be gone. Years will past and you’ll still be gone. A hundred years will pass and everything you know will be gone.

So what does this mean? It means that life is truly short. Life is sacred and should never be wasted. Even if you’re in a boring life sucking job, look for ways to make the most of it. Turn the boring mundane moments into fun and learnings. Look at your job as a means to create income for your dreams not just to pay the bills.

When you pay the bills, don’t get upset, tell yourself that you’re paying down your liabilities and that’s a good thing. Paying down your debts instead of being in debt.

Also, while you’re working in your job and have your bills covered, use your spare time to create a side hustle that will eventually free yourself. You need to create your own ship so that when your income falls apart, you have something built that can take care of you when the chips are down.

Eventually your side hustle will take off and you’re doing what you love. This forms a cycle where now you’re getting paid doing what you love and also something you’re truly passionate in. As you stay in this cycle for a long period of time, it becomes a habit and you can’t go back to what you were doing before because you’ve crossed over.

So if you’re ever feeling down and unmotivated, always remember that life is truly short. Is what you’re doing right now something you want to be doing for the rest of your life till the day you die? If not, then something needs to change. If you can’t change it immediately, change it slowly and eventually you’ll free yourself and live life filled with passion.
