The Benefits of Kickboxing and How It Can Change Your Life

For the past few weeks, I’ve been going to the gym. I’ve actually been going to the gym for many years but since moving to Sydney, my regular routine of working out has gone from 5 times per week to 0 per week.

It was then I finally had enough and sorted out my schedule so I could finally go to the gym. So after my weight training, dumbbells, legs and cardio, I would head over to the other side of the gym where it’s quiet and start smashing the shit out of a boxing bag.

Since doing this, I’ve found there’s so many benefits of kickboxing and why you should add it to your workout routine.

High Intensity

High intensity training is the best way to lose body fat. When you explode and go all in for a short period of time with short breaks, you raise your heart rate to a certain fat burning level and keep it there. When you do kickboxing, you’re working your entire body and your cardio is through the roof. High intensity is the best way to burn body fat and kickboxing delivers results.

When you’re going to the gym on a regular basis, you’re probably sticking to a routine. Arms, biceps, leg day, abs and cardio etc. When you do kickboxing, it adds so much more fun to the mix. I’m finding myself excited to go to the gym again and beating the shit out of a boxing bag. You get to throw so many punches and kicks, you feel like a street fighter. Kick boxing is fun!

Because you’re kicking a boxing bag and doing high intensity exercise, your brain is pumped of dopamine. These happy chemicals in your brain get’s addictive and you love it. You end up wanting to go back and do some more.

Muscle Toning

Kickboxing works out your entire body. You’re working out your abs, muscle groups, arms and legs. It’s a completely body workout and tones you nicely. Victoria Secret model Adriana Lima swears by kickboxing. So if you want to look like her, kickboxing is the pathway to the catwalks.

You can burn up to 500 – 800 calories per kickboxing session. Because you’re working out your entire body, you’re getting a huge workout and you’re sweating out your toxins.

Reduce Stress

After a massive kickboxing session, you’ll find yourself happier and the things you used to worry about is gone. Kickboxing is a great stress reliever and there’s nothing like taking out your frustrations on a boxing bag.

There’s so many benefits behind kickboxing so if you’re looking to lose weight, look more lean and also have some fun, try kickboxing. It’s awesome.
