The Benefits of Blogging and How You Can Use It To Generate More Opportunities Into Your Business

I’ve been blogging on and off for several years. I started my first blog about 9 years ago where it was simply a journal of the things I did. There was no real topic and it was simply a diary of what I was doing.

Years later, I kept refining my writing and changing topics. I create several other blog sites based on cycling (I was into it back then), marketing, business and more.

After running several blog sites, I’ve come to understand the importance of having a blog site to generate leads into your business. I’ve seen email enquiries around the world where they want to do business with you and transact a few hundred dollars to a few thousand. All from a blog.

Even though today blogs are very common and there is just a saturation of information, you can still succeed online through blogging. Writing articles is no easy feat and publishing over a long period of time is even harder. However if you stick with it and remain consistent, you’ll find that the rewards are great.

Here are some of the benefits of having a blog site.

Lead Generation

Blogging is a great form of lead generation. You have to invest a lot of time upfront in writing quality articles to generate the traffic. Once you have the traffic, emails will start to pour in and you’ll be generating leads into your business.


Once you’ve setup your blog and publishing articles on a consistent basis, you’ll find the opportunities will start increasing. Have you ever come across a blog, found the content really useful and then emailed the blog owner asking to do business with them? Flip that scenario around and you’ve got yourself a blog that attracts opportunities.


It’s no secret but blogs generate income. You can make money through Google AdSense, Affiliates, Joint Ventures and your own products. It takes a while to build up a blog site but once you’ve got the traffic, it’s very easy to monetise and virtually any quality product you put up there can be easily sold. However if your blog site has no traffic, forget putting your products up there.


When you own a blog site and you’re updating it on a regular basis, you’re showcasing your knowledge and talents. When people see you posting articles on what you know, you’re seen as an authority in that area. As a result, people in that industry will approach you and offer you opportunities such as speaking engagements, media interviews, features and more.


From a personal perspective, I find blogging very therapeutic. I’ve been to therapy before, it’s expensive. When you’re blogging, you can save a ton of money in therapy bills and lots of tissues. Now that’s probably the deal breaker in starting a blog isn’t it?

Network with People

Another reason why blogs are great is that because you’re building lots of exposure, you get to network with likeminded individuals. People all over the world know who you are and get to meet them and learn from them. Everyone has a great story to tell and by having a blog, you’ll increase your social circle like no other.


Personally, blogging has changed my life. I think it’s one of the best things you can ever have. It’s like an extension of yourself and a way in which you can reach the world. There’s never a better time to start a blog but now. Write to your hearts content and share your passion to the world.
