In a world where there are so many distractions and information that’s bombarding our senses, we fail to take notice of every marketing campaign that enters our life. Not that we should take notice of everything but there are some products or services out there that are genuinely great while some are crap.

Unfortunately, marketers have screwed up the whole game and have puffed up the industry like no other. They heavily market a mediocre product and fail to deliver promises. While I’ve seen many people who have spent years working on their product and they poorly market it.

Don’t be the latter.

In order to stand out from the rest, you need to build credibility into your marketing. Here are 3 powerful ways in which you can achieve this.

Authority

Authority is a big one. If you can associate with people in your industry who are seemed as a celebrity or authority in that particular niche, the power gets shifted over to you. I once saw a person selling a tennis course on how to improve their swing. The immediate video had them standing there in front of Rodger Federer watching him practice.

Authority was instantly generated throughout that initial scene and then the person began to talk. It’s enough to grab your attention and make you want to listen more. You can also build authority through books and years of expertise.

Media

What media have you been featured on? Have you been featured on prominent media sources in your industry? If not, try writing an article and contributing it into that media source. Once you get featured in that media source, you can place their logo on your website and instantly you build authority and credibility.

Joint Ventures

This is similar to authority but are there someone prominent in your industry who you can work with? This is the most difficult out of the three but if you can joint venture with an authority figure, you share networks and resources.

Conclusion

I’ve used the above 3 ways whenever I’m building a new marketing campaign. They are timeless and it never lets you down. There are always more techniques to build credibility but once you apply the above 3, you’ll find your marketing will generate better results.
